There have been many times I want to say, “Take a Hike” but I don’t think that has ever been toward my husband. It was toward someone that really got under my skin. Today we want to talk about how Taking a Hike is a great idea to have a Frugal Date.
Today is Frugal Date Idea #9 Take a Hike.
I love seeing pictures on the social media sites of couples that are doing things together. The couple in the picture is a couple that my husband was privileged to do pre-marital counseling with and then perform their wedding. It is a joy to see that they are taking time to be together and date.
This is a great way to have a date and it not cost money. Find a trail, a park, a small town and hike around. It doesn’t have to be a skilled trail or even a long distance away to be able to just get out and enjoy each other. Check out your cities resources and find trails that you can take. We have so many here in Louisville that maybe we should start taking the challenge to marking off
When you take this challenge and do the Frugal Date Idea of Taking a Hike, here a few things you might want to remember.
- Be sure to bring a water bottle for each of you. You can get just a disposable bottle or get water bottles that will hold the ice for a long time, like the Yeti or something of that kind.
- Wear comfortable shoes. This is not the time to take a hike in cute shoes. Wear a fresh pair of socks and comfortable hiking shoes.
- Wear clothes that are suitable for hiking. Blue jeans are probably not your best choice to wear.
- Bug spray and sunscreen. Spray well before you start on the trail. You might think you are in a covered area and will not get sun but you never know when the sun rays will catch you. It is best to always wear bug spray to keep the ticks and mosquitos away.
Hopefully, a few of these reminders will help you have a pleasant hike with your #1 and you can enjoy each other without spending a lot of cash.
